A few months ago, I blogged about my new role as the Beauty and Lifestyle Editor of Frock paper scissors magazine. Today is the day when it all comes to an end. Or should I say, it begins?!
The last three months have been stressful, exciting, nerve-wracking and most of all sleepless. If you were to see me today, without make-up, you would probably want to stick a sleeping pill down my throat and tuck me in bed for eternity.
But I can’t emphasise on how much I have learnt about magazines, editorials, fonts, text sizes, InDesign and relationships in the last 3 months. It has been a beautiful journey. I’m sad that it’s over, but excited for each one of you to get your hands on our beautiful new baby.
The ENTIRE editorial team put their heart and soul in these 64 pages (and several pages online). We were fortunate enough to be guided by the industry’s favourite magazine critique Erica Bartle and the very intimidating Kay McMahon. I say that in a good way, Kay 🙂
As much as the lovely online editor, Anna Angel loves the beautifully scented pages of a hard-copy magazine, she has proven that the virtual world needs to see what Brisbane’s made of. It is an oyster to the world.
So Brisbanites – make sure you flock around the city, spot the gorgeous magazine and read it cover to cover. And those of you who aren’t privileged enough, should jump on to the website and read the pdf HERE.
As for me… I’m going to sit back with my beautiful copy and remind myself of the reason I chose to live and study in Brisbane.
Frock. Paper. Scissors is why!
